WK Palmerton Associates LLC was retained by the Sacramento Ballet Company in late 2012 to develop a Strategic Plan for the nearly 60 year old Organization. Excerpts from the plan are copied below.
Mission / Vision Statement:
The Sacramento Ballet Association (SBA) exists to create, produce and present live performances of dance across the spectrum of classic and contemporary ballet repertory featuring company dancers of the highest caliber, interpreting music presented in the highest fidelity (either live or recorded), throughout the Sacramento metropolitan region and Northern California.
The SBA is committed to enhancing arts appreciation and education through its outreach programs in the Sacramento metropolitan region, through community performances and school curriculum which emphasizes both dance development and enjoyment for local youth and adults coupled with a professional dancer development program recognized nationwide for its excellence.
Artistic/Repertory
Strategy: Improve artistic opportunity by coordinating artistic choices across all organizational goals. |
The Sacramento Ballet Association:
1) will continue to present a wide range of repertory offerings – classic to contemporary ballet 2) will feature ballet that presents women “on-point” 3) artistic choices will be made as far in advance as possible for production and marketing excellence. 4) artistic choices will embrace both traditional/ elaborate set and minimalist set designs consistent with sound business principals for each performance. 5) artistic choices will be presented in advance to the Board Artistic Committee, and embrace the coordinated planning process for each production established by the Board. |
